A fabulously enticing read – and so very enjoyable!
Kerrymore Road is like any other street in the UK in our modern world; the residents may nod to each other as they pass by but are completely unaware of what goes on behind each front door. Now, mostly through the eyes of old Mr. Kirshaw sitting at his window day after day, we get a little peek into the lives of the residents of Kerrymore Road.
This is my second novel by Diana Philo; I loved the first one, Birthright, and the first thing to strike me about this one was how very different it was but no less interesting. If this author was writing for daytime television, it would be a lot more watchable! This is a book with a wide range of skilfully created characters and scenarios, each one more enjoyable than the last and written in such a way as to make the reader really care about what happens to each of them, and completely finished with a smashing ending. A delightful read from an author I shall be watching out for in future. Recommended, and 4.5* from me.
