Is a situation ever black and white?

Liv knows what kind of boy her grandson is. She knows Seb would never do anything to hurt his girlfriend, Izzy. But could the shadow cast by his father be influencing the boy she loves?

Caitlyn, Izzy’s mother, is desperate to reach her daughter, but she only seems to push her further away. Can she help her daughter or are Caitlyn’s own demons standing in the way?

When an inappropriate photo of Izzy is shared online, no one is prepared for the ripples that threaten to tear their lives apart. Will the truth come out before it’s too late?

Or is the damage already done?

Vikki Patis is also the author of the bestselling psychological thrillers Girl, Lost and The WakeIn The Dark is a gripping and suspenseful psychological thriller by bestselling author Vikki Patis. Girl, Lost will appeal to fans of domestic noir, as well as to readers of authors like C.L. Taylor, Claire McGowan and B A Paris.

Realistic, Riveting Read!

A cracking read and one which clearly demonstrates the world we live in today.

Liv is bringing up her grandson Seb. Money is tight but he’s a good boy – she has instilled good instincts into him. Surely he isn’t responsible for what has happened to his girlfriend, Izzy? Caitllyn is Izzy’s mother and realises there is a gulf between her and her daughter; could it be that Caitlyn’s past has caused present issues? When an inappropriate photo of Izzy is shared online, both women get caught up in the aftermath.

Wow, what a story! Vikki Patis knows how to create a gripping story line which draws the reader in from the very first and keeps them hooked to the very last. With fully developed characters and entwining threads – all entirely believable – this is not just a book but one which will make you think about everyone involved. All very cleverly crafted, it kept me riveted all the way through. There is so much going on that I never actually spent too much time considering the issue of the online sharing of the pic, and yet it is central to everything. Never losing my focus, I was eager to find out how it all worked out. Very few of us live the life we dream of, and the author has done a terrific job of keeping it real. Full of suspense, this is an excellent read and one which kept the grey matter ticking over all the way until a very satisfying conclusion. Highly recommended, 4.5*

My thanks to the publisher for my copy; this is -. as always – my honest, original and unbiased review.
