Another Cracking Mystery!

Another fabulous read from this author; she hits the mark every time!

The team at Connection are beginning to get in the festive spirit as Christmas draws closer; that is, until they get a new case and all festivities are set aside. Focusing on a murder and an attempted murder from almost two decades ago, the convicted man is now out on parole and has seemingly disappeared. With a family being under threat, it is imperative they manage to track him down – and quickly. As both the police force and the team at Connection work harder than ever to locate him, events spiral out of control with deadly consequences. Doris Lester’s seeks the help of an ex-colleague to find out what she needs to know – but will it all be too late?

What a read! I adore the characters in these novels – each and every one comes alive on the page. This is a tough mystery; until I reached the very end I was completely blindsided. Anita Waller knows how to tie her readers in knots and she kept me trying to work it all out right to the very end. Another cracking mystery, so beautifully written and I can only imagine the plotting and planning that went on to produce it. Definitely worth all five shiny stars, and the highest recommendation to those who love to wallow in a good mystery.

My thanks to the publisher for my copy; this is – as always – my honest, original and unbiased review.

Author Bio

Anita Waller was born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire in 1946. She married Dave in 1967 and they have three adult children.

She has written and taught creative writing for most of her life, and at the age of sixty-nine sent a manuscript to Bloodhound Books which was immediately accepted.

In total she has written seven psychological thrillers and one supernatural novel, and uses the areas of South Yorkshire and Derbyshire as her preferred locations in her books. Sheffield features prominently.

And now Anita is working on her first series, the Kat and Mouse collection, set in the beautiful Derbyshire village of Eyam. The first in the series, Murder Undeniable, launched 10 December 2018, and the second in the series, Murder Unexpected, launched 11 February 2019.

The collection has four books available, following the success of the first book; she is currently working on book five, Murder Unjoyful. This will be launched in November 2020.

She is now seventy-four years of age, happily writing most days and would dearly love to plan a novel, but has accepted that isn’t the way of her mind. Every novel starts with a sentence and she waits to see where that sentence will take her, and her characters.

In her life away from the computer in the corner of her kitchen, she is a Sheffield Wednesday supporter with blue blood in her veins! The club was particularly helpful during the writing of 34 Days, as a couple of matches feature in the novel, along with Ross Wallace. Information was needed, and they provided it.

Her genre is murder – necessary murder.
