Discover this year’s ultimate festive feel-good read!
Holly has been planning Christmas in the Caribbean with her boyfriend Jeremy for the last few months and welcomes the chance to do something different for the festive season. But when Holly catches Jeremy in bed with another woman her hopes are shattered.
Faced with no other option, it appears Holly is going to have to spend Christmas with her eccentric parents. Something she was keen to avoid.
After a night out, drowning her sorrows with her friend, she has a chance encounter with a handsome stranger, Fin, who provides her with an opportunity to have a Christmas staycation away from her parents.
But when it turns out that there is more to Fin than meets the eye, and the attraction between him and Holly grows, it looks like she is on the cusp of happiness again.
Will Holly get the Christmas she craved and the man of her dreams?
Holly’s Christmas Countdown is a feel-good romantic comedy, perfect to curl up with on those cold winter nights.
Suzie Tullett is also the bestselling author of The French Escape and Six Steps to Happiness. If you’ve enjoyed books like One More For Christmas by Sarah Morgan and Christmas at Lock Keeper’s Cottage by Lucy Coleman, you’ll love this touching festive read.
Funny & Uplifting!
An ideal read in this run up to Christmas! One to lift your spirits and make you smile.
Holly’s boyfriend book a Christmas Caribbean break for them this festive season and she’s been looking forward to it so much! For once, she will have a bona fide reason not to spend it with her family. When she catches Jeremy in bed – her bed – with another woman, it seems she’s lost her get-out clause after all. Hungover one morning, she meets Fin and the opportunity presents itself to hunker down for a staycation or, in other words, stay hidden from her unsuspecting family. Can she get away with it? And how much is Fin going to feature in her life?
I enjoyed this one; a good basic story with a good range of characters and plumped up with lots of humour. Holly’s family are hysterically funny – I defy any reader not to chuckle at them. Balancing out the laughs there are all the ups and downs in Holly’s life and it all adds up to a great festive read. You will definitely feel a bit lighter for reading this – and in these times of lockdown restrictions we need all the uplifting we can get! There were a few phrases I didn’t recognise and which seemed ‘clunky’ to me, but perhaps that’s just a regional thing? Very enjoyable, and one I’m happy to give 4*.
My thanks to the publisher for my copy; this is – as always – my honest, original and unbiased review.

Author Bio
I am an author of contemporary women’s fiction and romantic comedy. My novels include Going Underground, Little White Lies and Butterflies, which was short-listed for The Guardian’s Not the Booker Prize, The Trouble with Words, and The French Escape. I have a Masters Degree in Television & Radio Scriptwriting and worked as a scriptwriter before becoming a full-time novelist. I’m lucky enough to live between the Yorkshire Dales in the UK and a tiny hamlet in the middle of the French countryside, along with my husband and two Greek rescue dogs and when I’m not busy creating my own literary masterpieces, I usually have my head in someone else’s.
