An Enjoyable, Warm Read! 
What a nice read! This has brought a much needed taste of sunshine after a weekend of high winds and rain.
Ellie’s best friend Sophie is getting married – and she has an invitation to the wedding! It will mean a bit of a trip as Sophie now lives in France, but Ellie really doesn’t want to miss it. However, when her boyfriend decides that she won’t go, the blinkers fall from her eyes and she dumps him. She’s shocked to realise just how much under his thumb she has been and although travelling abroad and alone is outside her comfort zone, Ellie is determined to attend the nuptials. When she discovers feelings for another man, she isn’t sure she wants to give up her new found independence . . .
Not only is this a warm, happy read but it manages to incorporate a couple of the issues which rear their ugly heads in society today. Far from being a preachy read, it”s well-written and flows smoothly throughout but doesn’t shy away from spelling out the truth. Ellie is a wonderfully warm character, beautifully created but she has fallen into a crevice with seemingly no way out. The only person she can rely on is herself – and, having found herself, she is afraid of losing her way again. I can see a lot of my younger self in Ellie; I suspect many readers may identify with her. The characters are all skilfully crafted and could be encountered in any community. A very enjoyable read with some ups and downs along the way, and worth four stars.
