DI Hunter Wilson never has just one problem to solve.
Three elderly women he knows have died in mysterious circumstances. Hunter appears to be the only link.
A little girl goes missing on a cold winter’s night. When his team discovers cocaine hidden at the farm where she was living, the search becomes even more urgent.
Why did the women die? And what did the child witness?
Hunter must find the answers to these questions to ensure his family and his city are safe.
What a Cracking Read!
I’ve been looking forward to this next novel in the Edinburgh Crime Mysteries and, like the previous three, I wasn’t disappointed!
Beginning with a bit of a family situation for Hunter Wilson, it’s not long before he – and we – are plunged into the world of crime again. With calls on his time from more than one direction, this is a book which kept me on my toes!
What a cracking read! The more I read of these, the more I get to love all the members of Hunter’s team. It’s good to see not only the professional side of these officers, but also learn a bit about their private lives and it has plenty of bearing on the case. As they deal with the deaths of not one but three elderly women and a missing five year old, they have plenty to do. Val Penny produces a creatively written novel with a well-plotted story and each time I read her books it strikes me that, for someone who is American, she really has the Scottish dialect off pat! Another fantastic addition to this series and well worth a full house of stars!
My thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources both for forwarding my copy and my spot on this tour. This is my honest, original and unbiased review.
