Written by Allison Dickson
Two women are watching each other.
Phoebe isn’t sure when the car started showing up. At first she put it down to the scandal around her late father, but she’s certain now it’s there for her. What’s interesting about an unhappily married housewife, who barely leaves her house?
Only one knows why.
Every morning, not long before your husband leaves for work, I wait for the blinds beside your front door to twitch. You might think I’m sitting out here waiting to break into your house and add a piece of your life to my collection. Things aren’t quite that simple. It’s not a piece of your life I want.
When a new family move in across the street, it provides Phoebe with a distraction. But with her head turned she’s no longer focused on the woman in the car.
And Phoebe really should be, because she’s just waiting for an opportunity to upend Phoebe’s life…
Breath-Taking Read!
Whilst it’s fair to say that it was the cover which drew me to this book in the first place, I’m so happy I’ve read it .. it is a fantastic novel!
Phoebe is a woman who rarely leaves home; when she notices a car sitting in the street outside her house quite regularly, she concludes that the person in the car is watching her. But why? What’s so interesting about Phoebe?
There are two main women in this book; the woman who is being watched, and the watcher who, in turn, she is spying on. The suspense builds from the beginning, but there is plenty going on to focus the readers’ attention so, although it takes a while to find out what it’s all about, it’s worth waiting for. It’s all so unexpected, and it fairly took my breath away!
This is a very cleverly constructed novel; the story just sucked me in and distracted me to the point where some events really shocked me! What a read! Gripping and attention grabbing and gobsmackingly good! The writing is just wonderful and for anyone who loves a really good psychological suspense, this is one I highly recommend. It not only looks good, but what’s between the covers is stunning, and most definitely makes this a five star read.
My thanks to publisher Sphere for my copy via NetGalley. All stated opinions are, as always, entirely my own.

Meet the Author
It all kicked off with a short story about a haunted GPS exacting vengeance on a cheating husband, which appeared in an anthology almost no one read. From there, she told a chilling tale of a home infested with highly intelligent roaches, and then showed us an Earth forever changed by carnivorous moon dust. Dozens more short stories followed, but eventually, she started writing novels, several of which currently reside in a virtual trunk that shall remain forever locked. However, she managed to find a tiny hit in her contemporary indie horror novel STRINGS in 2013, setting her on her current path of writing dark domestic thrillers and suspense. Her forthcoming major debut, THE OTHER MRS MILLER, drops on July 16th, 2019.
When Allison isn’t writing, she’s usually obsessing over crochet, food, and murderers. She lives with her husband, two teenagers, and two four-legged beasts in Dayton, Ohio.
