As the snowflakes start to fall, Holly Cove welcomes a new tenant to the beautiful old cottage on the beach…
For lifestyle magazine journalist Tia Armstrong, relationships, as well as Christmas, have lost all their magic. Yet Tia is up against a Christmas deadline for her latest article ‘Love is, actually, all around…’
So, Tia heads to Holly Cove where the restorative sea air and rugged stranger, Nic, slowly but surely start mending her broken heart.
Tia didn’t expect a white Christmas, and she certainly never dared dream that all her Christmas wishes might just come true…
Set in Caswell Bay on the stunningly beautiful Gower Coast, the cottage nestles amid the limestone cliffs and the woodlands, where the emotions run as turbulently as the wind-swept sea.
As cosy as a marshmallow-topped mug of cocoa, fall in love with a heart-warming festive story from the bestselling author of The French Adventure.
Warm and Wonderful!
A sublime Christmas story in a gorgeous setting – warm and wonderful!
Tia Armstrong is a journalist for a lifestyle magazine and, with a pressing deadline for her latest assignment for the festive editions, she has the opportunity to spend five weeks in a rural setting to allow her to achieve what she needs to. Arriving at her destination, she finds herself in a beautifully renovated cottage with a sea view – can this place calm her troubled soul?
This is a book with a firm story line and plenty going on; as Tia settles in her temporary home she begins to meet several locals and finds that, for the most part, it’s a small and friendly community. The descriptions of the scenery are very visual, leaving the reader with a clear picture of the area. The setting of the Gower Coast is beautifully described and comes across as totally picturesque. It’s not an area I’m familiar with at all, but it sounds like a stunning location to live – even if only in the short term!
The characters are skilfully created from all walks of life and are, without exception, completely believable. This is a cleverly woven story with a good mix of people and it certainly kept me hooked to the very last page. If you’re looking for the glow of Christmas without the traditional elements, you will find it in this thoroughly enjoyable read. A special mention has to go to the fabulous cover – it’s just perfect. Heartily recommended read from an author who has been put on my ‘must not miss’ list!
